Expand your cabinet of curiosities with charming little star-shaped crinoid stem specimens.

Though first evidence of these animals can be found up to 480 million years ago, these specimens were excavated from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco from the Jurassic era, between 201.3 and 145 million years ago, where the mountains were an ocean bed home to vast numbers of these marine invertibrates called crinoids.
The animal had long, stems which it used to filter feed plankton and other organic detritus, these star-shaped stems are the cross sections you can see in your specimens.

Crinoids are a still living species today, considered "living fossils" where they're evolutionarily unchanged from their pre-historic ancestors.

In your order you'll receive a 6.5cm x 2.4cm glass corked jar filled with approximately 22g of crinoid fossils, measuring 1-2cm each.
Your collectable specimen will arrive well packaged and labelled with the species type, location it was found, and the era the animal lived.
